According to a report in the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, Dutchman Geert Hammink will be the new coach of the Fraport Skyliners Bundesliga team.
Frankfurt will announce the commitment of the 52-year-old in the coming days, it said. The club did not comment on this for the time being.
The Skyliners parted ways with head coach Luca Dalmonte this week. “We want to start again now,” explained managing director Yannick Binas. Despite the sporting relegation, the Hessians remain in the first division thanks to a wildcard.
Hammink most recently coached the Dutch club Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden. For the former center it is the first coaching station in Germany. The 2.10 meter tall ex-professional once played in the NBA and in the Bundesliga for Alba Berlin and RheinEnergie Köln.
