The injury from the Frankfurt game is still bothering Harry Kane. England will have to do without him in their next international match.
The English national team has to do without Harry Kane. The captain will not appear in the international match against Wales on Thursday evening (from 8:45 p.m. in the t-online live ticker). The reason is an injury that the FC Bayern striker sustained last Saturday in Frankfurt.
In his team’s 3-0 win, Kane had an unfortunate collision with Eintracht goalkeeper Kaua Santos shortly before the final whistle and received a blow to his ankle.
National coach Thomas Tuchel told English media: “It’s too painful to shoot the ball and too risky for it.” On Wednesday, the Munich striker had already completed an individual program in training.
However, in view of the tasks ahead, there is no reason for concern in London. The head coach continued: “We are giving him a chance to calm down and we are confident that he will be ready for Latvia.” Next Tuesday England will face Latvia in the World Cup qualifiers.
