FC Bayern celebrated a clear win against Donetsk. Thomas Müller was in a good mood – and annoyed the TV presenter in the interview.

After FC Bayern Munich’s clear 5-1 win in the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, the German record champions were in a positive mood. She was particularly good with goalscorer Thomas Müller. The Munich veteran was again in the starting line-up in the absence of the injured star striker Harry Kane – and contributed a goal to the clear victory.

After the game, Müller also answered questions at the Amazon Prime Video microphone. While his own interview was largely unspectacular, Müller also stopped for the interview with his coach Vincent Kompany.

The 35-year-old tried his hand at being a translator for his coach in a humorous way. When moderator Alexander Schlüter asked Kompany where the team was going on the trip, the Belgian was briefly confused: “Which trip?” he asked.

Müller intervened without further ado and first made a joke: “The return journey,” he said, but this confused Kompany even more. Slightly unsettled, he replied: “My German sense of humor isn’t quite there yet, but that’s coming.”

Müller then made a new attempt: “That was a very substantive question. He wanted to know whether we want to win the Champions League and yes, we do, but there is still a long way to go,” he made fun of the moderator’s question. Schlüter responded with a suggestion: “Mr. Müller, if you have better questions, feel free to do so at any time!”

At the very next Schlüters, Müller whispered again with the expert Christoph Kramer, who was standing next to him, and grinned mischievously. What exactly he said couldn’t be heard on TV, but Schlüter turned in Müller’s direction and simply said: “If you now evaluate every question I ask…”. Müller had already understood the hint before the end of the sentence, quickly gave up the microphone and disappeared into the catacombs with an “okay, okay”.

Even after the interview with Kompany had ended, moderator Schlüter couldn’t stop hearing Müller’s jokes. “It’s surprising that Müller didn’t take his microphone into the shower with him,” he added.
