FC Bayern has found the ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski in Harry Kane. This summer, however, Munich will not get the English superstar. And Spurs from Tottenham will soon do something to successfully block another attempt by the German record champions next year.
Harry Kane is one of the few desirable players that FC Bayern did not sign this summer. The Englishman would have been the perfect 1-1 replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who had moved to FC Barcelona, and would have closed a gap that is actually impossible to close. In the end, however, Tottenham blocked all attempts by the record champions to poach them early on and put a stop to the change.
The Spurs’ no doesn’t mean that FC Bayern won’t try their luck again in the summer of 2023. At least that’s what “transfer expert” Fabrizio Romano believes in his podcast am Tuesday reported: “I’ve been told that Julian Nagelsmann and the Bayern board believe Kane is the perfect player for their style and the Bundesliga. They believe Kane can be the new Lewandowski for them.”
However, there is one big problem in the end: Tottenham.
“They have absolutely no intention of letting Kane go. This summer it’s impossible. Nothing will happen there. But also in the future: [Manager] Fabio Paratici, [Trainer] Antonio Conte and [Präsident] Daniel Levy are working together to build a future around Harry Kane,” the journalist said.
Will FC Bayern try for Harry Kane in 2023?
The Londoners are hoping that this plan will work out in the end. The development is at least going in the right direction, as the “transfer expert” describes: “The atmosphere in Tottenham is completely different now. They have Champions League football and Harry Kane seems to be happy with the team and the mood. At the moment it is Everything is perfect between him and Tottenham.”
However, the Spurs bosses obviously know that FC Bayern could try their luck again soon and then bring out heavier artillery. After all, poker was over that year before it even really got started.
“They want to offer him a new contract to prevent Bayern from making another attempt next summer,” Romano explained that Spurs already have a plan to deter Bayern from further advances: another contract extension with Harry Kane, who would probably mean the end of all Munich transfer dreams.
