Bayern Munich | Offer made? Record champions are courting Barcelona jewel Álex Balde

In the search for reinforcements for the coming season, FC Bayern reportedly found what they were looking for at FC Barcelona. A young Spanish international is said to have taken a liking to the German record champions. The people of Munich are said to have already made representations.

As the “transfer expert” Gerard Romero claims, FC Bayern have made an offer for Álex Balde from FC Barcelona. The 19-year-old left-back should initially serve as a backup for Alphonso Davies and later follow in his footsteps. The journalist did not say how high the record champion’s offer was.

On the other hand, it is well known that the Catalans want to keep the teenager at all costs. According to Romero, a contract extension at Barca is therefore much more likely than a move to Munich. The current working paper for the new Spanish champions will expire in the summer of 2024.

A versatile jewel for FC Bayern?

Should the Munich team actually try to attract the young professional, this would not come as a surprise. Balde has demonstrated his qualities for the first time this season at the top level. The full-back has made a total of 42 competitive appearances for FC Barcelona this season. He was in the starting XI in 34 games.

Balde could also be interesting for FC Bayern because of his versatility. So the youngster can occupy not only the left but also the right defensive side. The five-time national player has also played in midfield.

A major change in personnel is expected in Munich in the summer. After an overall disappointing season, the record champions want to change their squad in several positions. The priority is to find a new striker. But the Munich team also want to step up their game in defense and midfield.
