Bayern Munich | Gravenberch poker is picking up speed

Ajax shooting star Ryan Gravenberg has long been on FC Bayern’s wish list. It is becoming increasingly unlikely that Munich will get the midfielder, because there is now hardly a top club that is not trying to get the 19-year-old.

FC Bayern will have to dig deep into their bag of tricks on the transfer market this year because, unlike many of the top European clubs, the record champions have imposed austerity measures. Instead of money, the people of Munich have to lure with prospects.

This could be particularly tricky in the case of Ajax star Ryan Gravenberg, because the 19-year-old now has free choice when looking for a new employer.

FC Bayern can still outperform BVB, which should also be interested, with its offer relatively easily, but it becomes much more complicated for other interested parties. And the list of possible buyers is getting longer and longer.

It was only this week that “The Athletic” reported that Manchester United, among others, is trying to get Gravenberch. Previously, the royals from Madrid and FC Barcelona were also mentioned as interested parties.

Juve is also competing with FC Bayern

The Italian sports newspaper “Corriere dello Sport” has now extended the list of interested clubs to include Juventus Turin. The paper claim the midfielder is also on coach Massimiliano Allegri’s wish list.

The next few weeks will show whether FC Bayern can hold its own in the face of the well-funded and well-known competition in the race for the Ajax jewel. After all, the Munich team should have received positive signals from the player himself. Dutch media reported that Gravenberch would like to move to the German record champions.

The question is still open how much the Munich transfer fee would put on the table for the Dutchman, who is only under contract with Ajax until 2023. There is a sum of around 30 million euros in the game – at least that’s what Ajax should demand for its jewel. An order of magnitude that could ultimately be too big for FC Bayern.
