Bayern Munich | Chelsea star now apparently favorite to succeed Süle

FC Bayern’s official confirmation that they would go their separate ways with central defender Niklas Süle this week was a real sensation. According to a recent media report, it is now clear who should be the top favorite to succeed the German international.

No other defender at Munich has made as many Bundesliga appearances as Niklas Süle this season. The 26-year-old has completed 18 of the previous 20 league games. Many observers were therefore surprised that the club and the players were still unable to agree on an extension of the cooperation for financial reasons.

The list of possible Süle successors at FC Bayern has been getting longer and longer in recent weeks, ranging from Antonio Rüdiger from Chelsea to Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus Turin, Gladbach’s Matthias Ginter and most recently even Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg.

Andreas Christensen, also FC Chelsea, is said to be in pole position with the German record champions. The Danish central defender is also without a contract from the summer, according to one podcast post by “Bild” football boss Christian Falk last year actually already agreed on an extension of his working paper.

Does FC Bayern dig into Christensen’s pockets?

At this point in November, however, Christensen changed his management – and since then the salary demands of the 25-year-old have skyrocketed. According to “Bild” information, it should be at least twelve million euros.

However, according to Falk, there are speculations as to whether this even means only the pure net salary. In both cases, Christensen would even be significantly more expensive than Süle, who would have “only” gone up to ten million euros gross in a salary jump.

Nevertheless, the defender of the Tuchel club from London should be the top favorite at Bayern, since those responsible should not least be convinced of his sporting quality.

Rüdiger is probably too expensive for Bayern

His Chelsea colleague Antonio Rüdiger, on the other hand, is losing more and more appeal at Bayern. According to what is known so far, the 27-year-old calls for more money than Christensen, which would clearly be too much for the Bundesliga leaders. In the case of Rüdiger, Real Madrid is also in the raffle, which should make it even more difficult to advertise for the native of Berlin.

According to the media report, Christensen is at the top of the list on FC Bayern’s transfer list, and the other way around, Bayern Munich should currently be the top priority for the Dane.

If the question of salary is clarified in the coming talks, Christensen could soon be fixed as Süle’s successor, it is said.
