Bayern boss Max Eberl has apparently left the United States-for an important reason. The 51-year-old sports director of FC Bayern reports not to flew to Fort Lauderdale with the team from Orlando on Thursday evening. As “Bild” and “Sky” report, he had traveled back to Germany from Tuesday to Wednesday.
According to reports, the background for departure from the club World Cup should be the intensive transfer talks: Eberl must strengthen the squad for the coming season. He wanted to stay in Munich for discussions on the management planning with his consultants and with potential candidates.
Bavarian personnel planning is under pressure, especially after the cancellation of Florian Wirtz and the upcoming change from Nico Williams to FC Barcelona. Eberl must now search for a replacement, especially on the left wing. According to “Sky News”, it is only a short trip. Eberl wants to be back in the USA for the second club World Cup game against the Boca Juniors in Miami (Saturday, 3 a.m. CET).
