“Still potential for development”
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have stepped up their offensive again and signed Nathan Tella from FC Southampton. After lengthy negotiations, the 24-year-old winger signed a contract with the Werkself until 2028. Reports of the Englishman’s transfer differ. From a sum of less than 20 million euros to an amount of up to 20 million pounds (about 23.3 million euros) one could read. According to “The Athletic”, the relegated “Saints” should also have secured a stake in the event of a resale of the right winger.
“We got a fast and dangerous outside player who already has a bit of experience but still has potential for development,” explained Sporting Managing Director Simon Rolfes. “Nathan gives our offensive additional variability, with his pace and footballing quality he will be an asset to our team.”
