After “Sky” recently reported on the increased interest in Christian Kofane from Bayer Leverkusen, especially from the Premier League, the striker’s agent spoke out. Eric Depolo from the Afrosport agency confirmed to the portal “Daily ArsenalTalks with Arsenal, but also named a number of other clubs, including Bayern Munich, as being in the running for the 19-year-old Cameroonian.
“Yes, Arsenal’s interest is real. The coach (Mikel Arteta; editor’s note) values him very much,” the agent is quoted as saying. It is still too early to talk about whether a club will lead the race for Kofane. However, the Gunners would have an advantage in that the Cameroon international, like Arteta, speaks Spanish thanks to his time in Albacete – Bayer signed him from there in the summer of 2025 for 5.25 million euros. Defense star William Saliba (25) also has Cameroonian roots. Therefore “Arsenal have the best chances”.

Depolo also confirmed interest in “Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton, Brentford and Bayern Munich.” Arsenal are also preparing an offer for the attacker, who is tied to Leverkusen until 2029. Regarding the transfer fee, it was recently said that Bayer wanted between 60 million and 70 million euros for Kofane. This would place the striker in third place among the most expensive Bayer departures. In front of him are only Kai Havertz, who moved to Chelsea FC in 2020 for 100 million euros including bonuses, and Florian Wirtz, for whom Liverpool FC raised 125 million euros last summer, excluding possible additional payments.
Depolo now said: “He is a 100 million euro player. With Kofane, Arsenal would have a top striker for the next ten years.” In the summer, the Gunners signed Viktor Gyökeres (27) from Sporting for 66.9 million euros, but the Swede has not yet made a full impact. Behind them in the squad is Gabriel Jesus (28), who is very talented but always struggles with injuries.
