Bayer Leverkusen newcomer Abdoulaye Faye temporarily releases for regular game practice. As the Werkself reported, the 20-year-old central defender will be on loan for the French Ligue 1 promoted FC Lorient in the coming season. At the end of June, the Senegalese was signed by the BK Häcken for 2.7 million euros and was equipped with a contract until 2030.
“Abdoulaye Faye has great potential. It has the quality to become an important component of our squad in the future. We see the best option in the loan after Lorient so that it comes at a high level as much as possible. This must be the next step in its development,” said sports director Simon Rolfes.
The 1.91 meter tall Youngster, whose market value is estimated at 2 million euros, previously came to eleven professional missions and two goals. He would have been exposed to great competition in Leverkusen. Five central defenders around Jarell Quansah, the most expensive access in the Bayer history in addition to Malik Tillman, are currently part of the squad. In Lorient, Faye, meanwhile, meets five compatriots, including in his position on Formose Mendy.
