Coach Steffen Baumgart from the Bundesliga soccer club 1. FC Köln firmly believes in the whereabouts of top performers Anthony Modeste and Ellyes Skhiri.
“They are both here and training with the team. Then why should I worry about it? I assume that both will start the season with us,” said Baumgart in an interview with “Sky”.
The contracts of goalscorer Modeste and Sixer Skhiri expire at the end of the coming season.
The 50-year-old has been preparing with his team at the training camp in Donaueschingen since Sunday for the coming season, in which the Cologne team will play in the Europa Conference League play-offs, among other things.
But Baumgart is also looking forward to the Bundesliga: “It will be a great season when I see what many clubs have done, including on the transfer market. I do believe that two or three teams definitely want to attack this year and also compete with Bayern want to do.”
