AZ lost the first Eredivisie points of the season with a 1-1 draw against NEC. At home, the Alkmaarders, who won the first three games of the season, had a difficult start. During the final offensive, the attackers were always stopped by NEC goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen. AZ currently has a laundry list of injuries of (potential) basic players.
