Batakovic Belgrade relies on uniform-inspired Womenswear and fabrics by Loro Piana. The Serbian luxury brand now also wants to inspire New Yorkers.

The brand plays with various uniforms that the founder Ivana Batakovic has always fascinated, she says in an interview with fashionunited. The associated charisma of power transports them into statement popes such as coats and blazers to create strong, feminine looks. Width shoulders and details such as straps and the exact placement of jacket pockets complete the concept. Belgrade and his brutalist architecture also play an important role in the collection.

Batakovic founded the label about two years ago to put her home and the Balkan countries into the fashionable Spotlight. With her own business in the Serbian capital, she also had many international customers: to win inside and then started the expansion, the former model explained.

She presented her collection for the autumn/winter 2025 season in a showroom during the Milan fashion week. In addition to France, Italy is one of the key markets in relation to visibility and sales, where the brand is represented with ten or three sales outlets. In addition, Batakovic is Belgrade, each with a trading partnership in Spain, Switzerland and China.

From Belgrade to Broadway

The next goal was the brand to make the US market and especially the metropolis of New York City, because Batakovic also sees the overlap of her collection and the aesthetics of customers. In doing so, she focused particularly on physical trade, since the brand’s online trade is made more difficult by the necessity that the customers have to physically experience the substances.

Some of the fabrics come from the Italian luxury fabric manufacturer Loro Piana and are processed into the final product in Serbia. In the long term, the range, which consists of outwear, blazers, pants, dresses and other statements, is to be further expanded in the long term. Accessories that complement the looks should also be included in the portfolio.

Last year, Batakovic Belgrade said that it generally achieved sales of around one million euros. For 2025, the brand expects growth between 35 and 40 percent. These expectations are based on the expansion plans and ongoing collaborations.
