After the two-week stop between the Italian Cup and the Fiba window, the Lba championship starts again. The 21st day opens with the last-gasp victory of Reggio Emilia, which signs a sensational comeback against Trento and wins 77-75. After chasing the guests for almost 40 minutes, Unahotels were dragged into the decisive phases of the match by an extraordinary Galloway with 24 points and in the last minute they had the opportunity to overtake thanks to a triple from the player of the match, Darion Atkins .

Trento accelerates

The Eagle takes center stage in the first minutes of the match with an excellent ball movement that triggers Biligha’s physicality and Hubb’s hot hand from the arc. Unahotels did less well, simply losing several balls in an attempt to attack the Trentino defense in the first seconds of the action. But just when the guests took a double-digit lead, Smith entered the game, taking the Reggio attack on his shoulders and restoring the balance in a couple of minutes. Trento, however, appears more consistent: Galbiati’s men are not affected by the counter-break and continue to bombard Reggio Emilia from long range, ending the first half ahead 32-41.

Reggio comeback

At the end of the long break, Dolomiti Energia returns to score points with Biligha and Grazulis, placing another important push. But after reaching a +14 lead, L’Aquila’s offensive production stops: Reggio Emilia once again finds the strength to react by clinging to Galloway’s attacks, which brings his team back into contact. After a heated back-and-forth, in the final stages of the match the home team even had the opportunity to get the ball rolling: the former player of the evening Darion Atkins took care of the overtaking from beyond the arc. The Eagle sensationally wasted the last possession of the match and so Priftis’ men completed a sensational comeback, with which they chased away the ghosts of the Final Eight.

Reggio Emilia: Galloway 24, Atkins 14, Smith 12 Trent: Grazulis 16, Biligha 14, Baldwin 11
