Game 4 ends 83-77 for the Friulians, who move to 2-2 in the series. The decisive match is on Monday

Giovanni Girolimetti

May 23 – 10.19pm – MILAN

The series between Brescia and Trieste will have another chapter to tell. At the PalaTrieste the hosts beat Germani 83-77 and thus forced game 5 (scheduled in 2 days in Brescia), which will decide who will go on to challenge Olimpia Milano in the semi-finals of the ’25-’26 Serie A playoffs. The Ross-Bannan duo was decisive, combining for 36 points, as well as Sissoko close to a double-double (15 points and 9 rebounds), while in Brescia Nunn’s extraordinary last quarter was not enough to overturn the result, put in the safe at the end by the triple from Toscano-Anderson.

THE MATCH

It’s a very balanced start to the race. Trieste immediately catches a Bannan in a state of grace, who already scores 12 points in the first quarter, but overall Taccetti’s team leaves too many balls on the street, which often trigger Germani’s counterattack, otherwise cumbersome in attacking the home team’s area with the defense deployed. In the second quarter the number of turnovers began to seriously weigh (already 11 in the 15th minute), while the Leonessa increased the number of shots with Mobio: Cotelli’s winger led the 7-0 break which brought the Giulians into a double-digit deficit (22-33).

TRIESTE THE LIME

Ross closes the gap, Trieste comes back into contact at the interval (35-38) and in the second half takes the lead with the break of 9-2 (61-53) triggered by the penetrations of Toscano-Anderson and – again – of Ross. But the fourth period is Brescia’s comfort zone, in particular Nunn’s: the first 4′ of the last quarter are enough for the American to score 11, Germani comes back into contact (68-67). Ramsey’s first ring of the evening gives impetus to Trieste again, who arrive at the last minute of the match ahead by 3 points (80-77). Brescia has the opportunity to shorten with Burnell, but his turning movement fails to find the basket. Then he punishes Toscano-Anderson from the corner: his triple is the knockout blow, in 48 hours we return to PalaLeonessa for game 5.
