Top basketball star Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets has suffered a knee injury and is in danger of being out for a long time.

In the clear 123:147 away defeat at the Miami Heat, the three-time NBA MVP collided unfortunately with teammate Spencer Jones in the first half, who stepped on his left foot as he moved backwards. Jokic immediately went to the ground holding his left knee. After limping off the field, the Serb never returned.

An MRI examination should provide clarity on Tuesday. “All I know is that Jokic has a left knee injury and needs to go through the process. He knew right away that something was wrong,” said Nuggets coach David Adelman.

Coach Adelman: “That is devastating”

“It’s part of the NBA. Anyone who gets injured, it’s devastating. Especially someone as special as him. We hope for the best.” Before his injury, Jokic had scored 21 points.

Just four days ago he shone with a gala performance (56 points, 16 rebounds and 15 assists) against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nuggets remain clearly on course for the playoffs as third in the West.
