Germany’s basketball players won their first placement game at the European Championship. A victory is still separating from fifth place – it would be the best performance since 1997. Germany had become sixth at the 2023 European Championship.
The DBB women won 93:73 against Turkey on Friday (June 27, 2025). In the final game for 5th place, Germany will meet the basketball players from the Czech Republic on Sunday (June 29, 2025, from 1.30 p.m. in the live ticker), who won 81:76 against Lithuania.
Frieda Bühner was the best German thrower against the Turkishes with 19 points, Fiebich came to 18 points.
At the break, Germany was ahead of over 20 points
Against Turkey, the selection of the German Basketball Federation (DBB) started highly and set off with a 9-0 run early in the first quarter. Afterwards, unlike Belgium, the DBB team scored reliably in the zone-and thanks to another 8: 0 runs and the accuracy of Emily Besso from the triple line to the break to over 20 points.
