Late summer is about the European basketball crown. The European Championship 2025 is increasing in four countries. RTL broadcasts live on free TV.
From August 27th to September 14th, the Casketball European Championships will take place in Latvia, Finland, Cyprus and Poland. It is the 42nd edition of an EM.
24 national teams are eligible to participate. The official name of the tournament is Eurobasket 2025.
The games take place here
The venues are the Xiamo Arena in Riga (Latvia), the Noki-Areena in Tampere (Finland), the Spyros Kyprianou Athletic Center in Limassol (Cyprus) and Spodek in Katowice (Poland).
The draw of the preliminary round groups will increase in Riga on March 27. Four group heads are drawn to five other teams. So there are four preliminary round groups with six teams each.

- Group phase: The group phase is held in the cities of Limassol (Cyprus), Tampere (Finland), Riga (Latvia) and Katowice (Poland).
- Group A: Riga, Latvia
- Group B: Tampere, Finland
- Group C: Limassol, Cyprus
- Group D: Katowice, Poland
- KO-PHASE: The co-rounds (round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals) take place in Riga, Latvia.

German team at the start
The German team qualified with the victory in the group with Bulgaria, Sweden and Montenegro.
After the Sensation Coup at the 2023 World Cup against the DBB team, the DBB team also wants to reach for a medal at the European Championship. Alex Mumbru is the new national coach. World Champion coach Gordon Herbert is now training FC Bayern. After the successes at the World Cup and Olympics (fourth place), the German team is a co -favorite.
