Interestingly, there were no surprises in Piraeus’ quarter -finals. The team prevailed in all four matches, which their respective group was able to win. Thus, only the second -placed people can be found in the placement round. After an 81: 76 success against Lithuania, the Czech Republic has already qualified for the game for fifth place. There is no clear favorite in duel Germany against Turkey. The Turkish women were able to win the only competitive game against a DBB selection in 2007, but in friendly games in 2023 and 2025 they divided the victories fairly, with the last encounter from the beginning of June with 81:65 to Germany.

In contrast to their current opponents, the Turkish women had an extremely tight quarter -finals against Italy. After the regular 40 minutes it was 68:68, so that the encounter could only be decided in the extension. There the Italians scored two more points and finally prevailed with 76:74 and moved into the semi -finals. Turkey, which, like Germany, was only able to qualify for the Playoffs on the last group game day, last time in 2017 among the top five teams in Europe.

After the DBB selection on the last matchday of the group phase was able to qualify for the quarter-finals with an 80:67 against Great Britain, there was almost no chance for the women of Lisa Thomaidis against defending champion Belgium. In the end, the Belgians left the place with an 83: 59 success, so that Germany can only reach fifth place. If you were to get fifth place, it would be the best performance at the Eurobaskets after the 1997 bronze medal. However, Turkey has to be beaten before the Czech Republic would wait in the final duel that could already win against Lithuania in the morning.
