Alba Berlin achieved its next easy win in the Basketball Bundesliga against Rasta Vechta.
Alba Berlin remains in the top group in the Basketball Bundesliga. The Berliners won in front of 3,140 spectators against thirteenth-placed Rasta Vechta with 95:83 (52:42). Alba remains third, tied with second place, the Würzburg Baskets. The best throwers for the capital club were Justin Bean with 18 and Moses Wood with 15 points.
Coach Pedro Calles again had to do without Alex O’Connell (knee problems) and center Martynas Echodas (infection), who had just returned after a long injury break. Nevertheless, his team immediately took control. Alba was very attentive on defense and did not allow Vechta to make any easy throws. And on offense, the guests kept pushing the pace and proved to be effective.
Alba sits down in the third quarter decisive away
The lead reached double digits for the first time in the middle of the first quarter (17:6). In the second section it even increased to 19 points (37:18). After that, the hosts got into the game better. Alba too often let opponents go to the basket too easily. And there, the re-signed ex-national player Tibor Pleiß caused problems for the Berliners. The lead dwindled by the break.
The guests then took control again after the break. At the end of the third quarter the lead had increased again to 23 points (77:54). With the clear lead behind her, Alba took things a little easier in the final section. But victory was no longer in danger.
