Basketball African League excitement begins – Breaking Basketball news



Basketball Africa League announced the teams and match schedule for the 2022 season. In the opening game of the season, Senegal’s University Club Dakar (DUC) will host Guinea’s Seydou Legacy Athletique Club (SLAC).


The 12 teams, comprising BAL 2021 champions Zamalek (Egypt) and four other teams from the 2021 BAL season, will be split into two conferences, the Sahara Conference and the Nile Conference.


Each conference will feature a 15-game group stage where each team will face the other five teams in their conference once. The group stage of the Sahara Conference will be held at the Dakar Arena between 5-15 March, and the group stage of the Nile Conference will be held at the Hassan Mostafa Indoor Sports Complex in Cairo between 9-19 April. The top four teams from each conference will qualify for the BAL play-offs, which will include a one-game knockout tournament and finals at Kigali Arena from May 21-28.

Zamalek became the champion by beating Monastir 76-63 in the first BAL Championship, which was held in Kigali Arena on May 30 and broadcast to fans in 15 languages ​​and 215 countries and regions.
