Dow Jones-BASF checks strategic options for its feed enzyme business. “We are looking for partners for whom feed enzymes are a strategic focus and the innovations and profitable growth can continue to advance,” said Martin Volland, head of the Nutrition & Health division, which includes the feed enzyme business. “This attractive business combines a highly qualified team with market and technology competence and pioneering experience in the area of feed enzymes. This is supplemented by worldwide established brands and a strong innovation pipeline – the best conditions for further success.”

“We are convinced that the feed enzyme business can develop its full potential in a different strategic environment,” said Daniela Calleri, Head of Nutrition Ingredient at BASF. “Our priority will be to ensure continuity for employees, customers and partners.” According to Calleri’s words, the business unit Nutrition Ingredient should concentrate on vitamins and carotenoids along the central value chains from BASF.

The DAX group emphasized that this announcement relates exclusively to the feed enzyme business of the Nutrition & Health division and does not include the Enzympurfolio for the Home Care and I & I markets, which is part of the CARE Chemicals BASF area.
