Bas Smit also gets paid to praise Anna Nooshin

It remains a bit embarrassing, all those celebrities who get paid to promote Anna Nooshin’s documentary. Now Bas Smit also joins this list of stars. “She’s so candid!”

Bas Smit has entered into a long-term partnership with Amazon, which means that nowadays he always pretends in his Instagram stories that he watches all series of Prime Video in his spare time. This time he praises the documentary by Anna Nooshin, whereby he forgets to indicate that it is a sponsored post.

Bass praises Anna

There is of course no follower who thinks that Bas is really interested in Anna’s documentary. Not at all now that he is the umpteenth Dutch celebrity who gets paid to promote Anna’s documentary. The most painful thing is that even Anna’s own friends Fred van Leer and Monica Geuze have taken money to devote a few positive stories to her film.

And now Bas is following that: “Just watched Anna Nooshin’s documentary on Prime Video. Was really curious after all those messages. You can see the story behind Anna very nicely and it is not just festive. Super brave so candid and nothing but respect.”

Unbelievable

Knowing that Amazon simply pays for such a post, Bas’s praise is of course nothing more than a collection of empty phrases. Wouldn’t something so unbelievable have the opposite effect? Friends who only praise Anna for payment?

&.agency, the company behind this Anna campaign, thinks not. “The influencers were chosen in accordance with all parties involved,” Sophie van der Schaft, the boss of that company, told Adformation

PR blunder

Isn’t it just a public relations blunder to pay Anna’s friends for some compliments? This doesn’t come across as strong, does it? Nonsense, Sophie thinks.

Sophie misses in the discussion that Anna is ‘very much seen as a person, while it is a documentary or a product’. “And not to promote Anna as a person.”

Insta post

Despite all those celebrities with their paid praise, Anna’s documentary does not seem very popular. Anna asks her followers in an Instagram post to leave a comment if they have already seen her documentary. About 250 people have responded:
