Barry Manilow is doing well after surgery but says he needs more time to recover before he can return to the stage.
The singer, who was scheduled to perform at Westgate Las Vegas from February 12 to 21, said he will have to postpone the performances for now. This news comes after Manilow announced in December that he was undergoing surgery to remove a “cancerous spot” on his lung.

“I am doing well and recovering very well from my surgery,” Manilow wrote in a statement posted to social media on Wednesday. “I exercised and spent some time in the gym, which was fantastic.”
“However, upon the advice and recommendation of my doctor, we have decided to postpone my residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas from February 12th to February 21st so that I can focus on my recovery and prepare for the tour, which begins at the end of February,” he continued. “A few weeks of rest and preparation is just what the doctor ordered!”
According to a rep for the singer, Manilow will return to Westgate on March 26, 27 and 28. Manilow will kick off his arena tour as scheduled on February 27th in Tampa, Florida at the Benchmark International Arena and will make stops in cities across the country including Nashville, Orlando, Charleston, Portland and more. The tour ends April 29 in Duluth, Georgia at the Gas South Arena.
His new song, “Once Before I Go,” released in September, debuted on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts this week, more than 50 years after his first chart appearance with 1974’s “Mandy.”
