A barn caught fire on the Schuurkerkplein in Heeswijk-Dinther during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The fire started in a garbage container next to the shed. The resident had thrown away fireworks in the container earlier in the evening.
The fire spread from the container to the shed and a conifer. The resident managed to extinguish the fire largely himself with buckets of water. The fire brigade then took over the fire.
Earlier in the evening, the resident had cleaned up the remains of category 1 fireworks such as sparklers that were lying on the street and threw them into the container. Then the fire started. The damage was limited to the outside of the barn. No one was injured in the fire.
