The laser projectors will “enhance the movie experience of tens of millions of moviegoers worldwide,” it said in a press release, thanks to, among other things, “improved contrast and more vibrant colors.”
The Barco projectors will be installed in the cinema chain’s theaters in the United States, the United Kingdom and other European markets by 2030. Financial details are not mentioned.
The two parties have been working together since 2007. Regal Cineworld Group includes the cinema brands Regal, Cineworld, Cinema City, Picturehouse and Planet and has more than 9,000 screens, according to the website.
