Barcelona’s Gavi was deemed worthy of the 2022 Golden Boy (Golden Boy) Award, given to football star candidates under the age of 21.
The Spanish football player was chosen as the best young player of this year by the votes of journalists working in Europe’s leading sports media institutions.
In the organization where the winner was announced at a press conference held in Palermo, Italy, 18-year-old Gavi outstripped Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich and Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid.
Voting participants make the selection by evaluating the performance of the players from last season to date.
Gavi also won the ‘Kopa Cup’ given to the best young football player of the year at the Golden Ball (Ballon d’Or) award ceremony held earlier this week.
