Barcelona launches a bike lane linking the Sants neighborhood with L’Hospitalet de Llobregat

  • The objective is that in 2023 the city will have a network of 272.6 kilometers of cycling axis

The Sant’s street has a new bike lane from this Saturday, between the Riera Blanca and Arizala streetswith which Barcelona City Council intends to give continuity to the metropolitan cycling axis linking the Catalan capital with Esplugues and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), via the Collblanc road.

As reported by the Barcelona City Council, it is a new segregated and unidirectional lane that joins those that have come into service in recent months on Meridiana Avenue, the central section of Diagonal, Gran Via, Ronda Guinardó and Nàpols street.

Barcelona City Council is building 32.6 new kilometers of bike lanes and improving another 11.7 -which includes lowering them from the sidewalk to the road, widening them and favoring their permeability- with the aim that in 2023 the city will have a network of 272.6 kilometers.
