Barcelona City Council wants to demolish the buildings known as El Kubo and La Ruinavacated last week, to convert the site into an “enjoyment area for the neighborhood”, according to the deputy mayor and councilor of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Maria Eugenia Gay.

“The procedures are being carried out to declare it an economic and structural ruin and with them in hand we will try to tear them down,” Gay explained on Monday at the district plenary session.

Regarding the future of this space in the Bonanova neighborhood, Gay specified that “the idea is for it to be an area of ​​enjoyment for the neighborhood” and ruled out the construction of a Primary Care Center (CAP) there, as proposed by neighborhood entities, because “it has no place with the regulations in hand.”

The El Kubo and La Ruina farms are privately owned, 60% by Sareb, and both have been affected for years and classified as roads and green areas.
