When does the Barbie movie start?
After a long time only 2023 was known as the time window for the film start of “Barbie”, an exact date has now been set. The film is set to premiere in the US on July 21, 2023. There is no official release date for Germany yet; As a rule, however, the films in this country always start two to three days in advance. With a bit of luck, we can see Barbie and Ken on the big screen as early as July 20, 2023.
We already know that about the plot
Barbie is probably the best-known and best-selling doll in the world. The fashionable dolls, which often embody the spirit of the times in their design, have been sold since 1959. In fact, there are already a number of films about the original blonde Barbie – there are now even more than 40. However, they are all animated or cartoon films. The film, which will be released in 2023, will be the first live-action adaptation. The film is thus aimed at a slightly older target group for the first time.

First pictures
The shooting has been going on since March 2022. In the meantime there are also some pictures from the set of the film. We get an impression of the Barbie look with the first, very pink, official picture with Margot Robbie. And there are already pictures of a very peroxide blonde Ryan Gosling as Ken.

In fact, the constantly changing cast is one reason for the long planning phase. When the project was announced in 2014, Sony was still on board.
