Bankruptcy at Bayern: Kehl criticizes the performance of the Dortmund professionals

Borussia Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl is far from giving up the fight for the title with FC Bayern, despite the clear defeat in a direct duel in Munich.

“We are Borussia, we’re getting up again – and the thing isn’t over yet,” said the 43-year-old Kehl after the 2-4 (0-3) on Saturday evening in the top game of the Bundesliga.

“It’s a bitter day, it hurts. But the championship hasn’t been decided yet today,” said the BVB sports director. Kehl argued that it was the first league defeat for his Borussia this year and the gap to Bayern after losing the table lead is only two points.

“Today many were not where they need to be to win here in Munich,” he criticized the performance of several BVB professionals: “But we still have five home games and three away games. There are still a few points up for grabs.”

BVB coach Terzic: “We’re going home with a portion of anger”

Kehl mourned the missed opportunity in the Allianz Arena. “We had a big opportunity to make a good step forward with a point or with three,” he said. Coach Edin Terzic made a similar statement at the press conference: “We’re going home with a bit of anger. But then we’ll look at the table and see that we’re two points behind the leaders.”

First of all, however, Borussia will focus on the DFB Cup with the quarter-final game on Wednesday at defending champions RB Leipzig. “We would like to go to Berlin, we still have this title in mind, so we have to pull ourselves together quickly,” said Kehl.
