Bands from The Hague are doing well in Top 40, Goldband fastest climber | show

This is the overview of the most important shifts in the Top 40 of September 24. In the list we see 3 entrants, 7 stayers, 13 risers and 17 failers.

39 (–) SUPER FREAKY GIRL- Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj knew with Super Freaky Girl her third US #1 hit. The number was, na Doo Wop (That Thing) by Lauryn Hill, only the second from a female rapper who managed to get into 1 from nothing. In the song you mainly hear Super Freak, the song with which Rick James was number 2 for two weeks in 1981. After that, that hit was also heard in You Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer and Superfreak of the BeatFreakz.

The most successful female rapper from the Top 40 takes her 16th Top 40 hit this week, debuting at number 39.

11 (23) EMERGENCY – Gold Band

Singer Boaz himself calls the song ‘quite a good song’. Well, Boaz… the rest of the Netherlands is starting to think that too, because Emergency is the fastest climber in the list this week. With twelve places, Goldband comes in at number 11. This means that they miss the top 10 by a small margin and that could have resulted in a unique top 10 with three bands from The Hague. Son Mieux remains at number 6 and Di-Rect drops one spot to number 9.

8 (12) LOST- Suzan & Freek

In the past two weeks we had no Dutch-language hit in the top 10 of the Dutch Top 40. Suzan and Freek fill that ‘void’ this week because Lost climbs from 12 to 8. This makes the 7th top 10 hit for the Dutch duo a fact. They are also immediately in the top 4 of Dutch duos with the most top 10 hits behind 2 Unlimited, 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor and Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo.

1 (2) I’M GOOD (BLUE)- David Guetta & Bebe Rexha

Rosa Linn has met snap one of the seven non-residents – at number 3. One spot higher we see last week’s number 1, Calm Down from Rema. After four weeks at number 1, he had to make room for the man who has been in the waiting room for so long. It took him 58 previous hits and had been on the list for 813 weeks. But still that coveted number 1 hit was not there for David Guetta. With his third Top 40 hit that he made with Bebe Rexha, it finally hit the spot: I’m Good (Blue) is his first number 1 hit for the French DJ and producer.

Every working day, just after six, you will hear the latest developments regarding the list in the Top 40 Update. A new Top 40 will be available on Qmusic on Friday from 2 p.m.
