Bad news? Kyle Walker wants to stay at Manchester City

FC Bayern is courting Kyle Walker’s services. However, the German record champions still have to overcome several hurdles before they can be transferred. According to a report, the right-back is flirting with Manchester City.

In the past few days, the poker around Walker has picked up speed. According to media reports, FC Bayern is said to have positioned itself to free the 33-year-old from the reigning Champions League winner.

But according to information from the “Daily Mail”, the defender prefers to stay at Manchester City. Walker is currently tied to the triple winner until 2024. Walker has now started talks with the club about a contract extension. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had previously reported on the exchange between player and club.

FC Bayern does not have an easy time wooing Walker. According to “Sky”, ManCity could also demand between 20 and 30 million euros for the 75-time England international if it ended up being a change. Quite a proud amount considering Walker’s age and the remaining term of his working paper.

FC Bayern needs action

But FC Bayern needs to take action on the right-back position. Benjamin Pavard probably wants to leave the German champions early this summer. City loan João Cancelo is unlikely to have a future on Säbener Straße. FC Bayern’s squad planners are therefore in demand on the transfer market.

Walker undoubtedly has a wealth of international experience. The veteran switched from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City in 2017 for around 52 million euros, where he quickly earned a regular place. In the historic treble season 2022/23, Walker completed 39 competitive games for the Skyblues.
