According to the WSJ, Broccoli can’t stand Amazon’s priorities, which rely on data, algorithms and streaming subscriptions. Hollywood is known as an environment that tends to commercialize characters in a variety of ways, such as creating toys or even amusement parks around the character. James Bond has been an exception in this matter, because the character has been tried to be protected from excessive commercialization.
Broccoli has already turned down video games, TV shows and at least one casino even before Amazon bought the movie rights.
