Bundesliga club FC Augsburg will have to start the new season without Niklas Dorsch.
The midfielder suffered a broken metatarsal in his left foot during a test over four 30-minute games against Stade Rennes (2-3) on Saturday. The 24-year-old is expected to be out for several weeks.
FC Augsburg will start the new season next Sunday with the DFB Cup game at BW Lohne. Six days later, the team of new coach Enrico Maassen welcomes SC Freiburg to the Bundesliga opener.
