Bad Bunny brings his dazzling personality into the world of animation: The Puerto Rican star has been confirmed as part of the cast of the upcoming film “Toy Story 5.”
On Tuesday (May 26), Disney confirmed that the Grammy-winning artist will make a cameo appearance in the fifth installment of the popular film series – as Pizza with Sunglasses. Described as “effortlessly cool and mysterious,” the character is one of a small but powerful group of forgotten toys who live in an abandoned shed.
In addition to Bad Bunny, Disney also announced that actor Alan Cumming will appear in Toy Story 5. He voices Evil Bullseye, the evil counterpart to Woody and Jessie’s faithful horse Bullseye.
Familiar voices return
“Toy Story 5” reunites many of the franchise’s long-time cast members, including Tom Hanks (Woody the Cowboy), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) and Joan Cusack (Jessie). Actor Ernie Hudson will take over the role of Combat Carl from Carl Weathers, who died in February 2024. Other stars in speaking roles include Conan O’Brien, Craig Robinson, Shelby Rabara, Mykal-Michelle Harris and Scarlett Spears.
Disney describes the plot of “Toy Story 5” as “Toy Meets Tech”: Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang face the greatest threat in toy history – a tablet called Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee). The film hits theaters on June 19th. Oscar winner Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris co-directed; Randy Newman returned to compose the film’s score.
Bad Bunny’s latest acting role continues his foray into film. The Puerto Rican hitmaker has increasingly demonstrated his acting skills in recent years. In 2022 he was seen as a wolf in David Leitch’s film “Bullet Train” alongside Brad Pitt; Most recently he played Colorado in the 2025 film “Caught Stealing” alongside Austin Butler, Regina King and Zoë Kravitz.
Bad Bunny as Águila Blanca
Earlier this year, it was also announced that Bad Bunny would star in “Porto Rico,” a film about the life of legendary Puerto Rican revolutionary José Maldonado Román, known as Águila Blanca (White Eagle).
