Back round start: Bayern train with talent

Munich (dpa) – Coach Julian Nagelsmann continued the preparation for the Bundesliga start against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Thursday in Munich with the FC Bayern squad, which had been badly decimated by nine corona cases.

The TV broadcaster Sky showed how the football professionals around the national defender Niklas Süle, who had been paused the day before due to back problems, disappeared behind the privacy screen for the non-public final training.

The Munich rump squad did not have to be completely quarantined after Bayern announced the positive test of defender Alphonso Davies the day before. The Canadian had trained with his colleagues on the field that morning. The Bavarians are in constant contact with the health department.

As of now, the game should take place on Friday (8.30 p.m. / Sat.1 and DAZN) in the Allianz Arena without any spectators. The Munich professional squad will probably be filled with several young players who were present at the final training. National player Leon Goretzka only trained individually after problems with the patella tendon.

Injured professionals are also counted among the available players according to the Bundesliga game regulations. Bayern apparently reach the required number of 16. According to the German Football League, “more than 15 eligible” players must be available. Nagelsmann could provide further clarification in his press conference today (1.30 p.m.).
