Back on the familiar nest: from Landgoed Hoenderdaell escaped bird of prey Herman captured

Bird of prey Herman is back in his residence on Landgoed Hoenderdaell. The black kite escaped earlier this week, but was lured back to its enclosure after a few days of freedom with food.

The bird managed to escape during feeding. Normally this is not such a problem because a large net has to prevent the animals from escaping, but Herman still flew to his freedom through an opening.

The bird didn’t really go far: in recent days he regularly flew past the animal park to see how his relatives were doing.

Caught again

When he was sitting close to the enclosure this morning, an animal caretaker managed to catch him, Landgoed Hoenderdaell writes Facebook. Herman is back with his two peers and he is doing well, according to the zoo.
