The Austrian crystal glass producer Swarovski is losing its next manager. On Monday, the group announced that Nadja Swarovski would leave the Executive Board at the end of the year. After 26 years in the family business, she now wants to “start a new chapter in her career,” says a press release. She will remain with the Swarovski Foundation as Chair Emeritus. CEO Robert Buchbauer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mathias Margreiter had already left the company in the fall.

Nadja Swarovski joined the Executive Board in 1995, making it the first female member of the management body. According to the company, she initiated numerous collaborations between the company and leading personalities from the fields of art, fashion, architecture, theater and film. In 2007 she founded the jewelry line Atelier Swarovski, which worked with prominent fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gaultier and Victor & Rolf.

“Over the years she has made a decisive contribution to bringing Swarovski to the forefront of the fashion industry. That is her legacy to Swarovski, ”said Luisa Delgado, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Swarovski International, in a statement. “We are pleased that we can continue to count on Nadja’s contribution to the Swarovski Foundation in the future.”
