Without the sick Djordje Mihailovic, AZ won the exhibition game in Italy against Atalanta Bergamo 1-0. Hakon Evjen scored the only goal of the evening after just 29 seconds after a slipper from the home team.
After the goal, Atalanta was close to a hit. Rasmus Hojlund, for example, hit the post and AZ keeper Hobie Verhulst saved after a bet by Ederson. Nevertheless, AZ went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Penalty
AZ conceded a penalty in the final phase, but Verhulst saved Duvan Zapata’s penalty. No more goals were scored in Atalanta and the Alkmaarders won the second exhibition game in the winter break. Last week, Valencia won 3-1.
Next Saturday, AZ will resume the Eredivisie with a home game against Vitesse
