The pink stadium plays among fans, says Daan. “I regularly hear something about it. But yes, in the end it’s what happens on the field. If you win, it doesn’t matter. I prefer AZ that AZ will be champion with an ugly stadium than being eighth with a beautiful shiny stadium.”
Liefting agrees with that. “The outside is important for the appearance, but I do know what I would give priority to.”
‘Discoloration is due to weather conditions’
AZ says it is familiar with the discoloration. According to the club it is probably due to the weather conditions around the stadium. “It is a combination of the impact of sunlight and the salty air, since the stadium is relatively close to the sea,” said a spokesperson. “As a result, discoloration occurs faster.”
The discoloration of the outside of the stadium has the club’s attention. But when that will happen is not yet clear.
