Huiberts is satisfied with the performance in the KNVB Cup (eighth final) and Conference League (intermediate round).
“We are purely critical of the last month and a half in the Premier League. We still have the chance to finish high, but that is mainly due to the fact that other clubs are also not stable. That volatility must be eliminated.”
Major forces are missing
He mentions the long-term absence of important players such as Jordy Clasie, Seiya Maikuma, Denso Kasius and Mexx Meerdink as a factor for the volatility.
“That is not always possible for a club like AZ. That does not alter the fact that we have so much quality in the selection that we should have scored more points.”
