AZ extends contract trainer Pascal Jansen: “I feel respected and valued here”

AZ will continue with trainer Pascal Jansen for longer. During the New Year’s reception in Alkmaar, the club announced that there is an oral agreement on a contract extension until mid-2025.

“I feel respected and valued here,” says Jansen about his choice. The 49-year-old trainer therefore did not have to think long to speak the high word. “When the formal appointment was made yesterday, we were out pretty quickly.”

Jansen has been at the helm of the Alkmaar premier divisionist since December 5, 2020. In 2018 he started working as a youth coach at AZ. After Arne Slot was fired as head coach in early December 2020, Jansen moved on to that position.

He played as a football player in the youth of Ajax, AZ, HFC Haarlem and Telstar, among others. Due to an injury, he had to retire early from football.

Brandenburg extends

AZ will also continue longer with Paul Brandenburg. The head of youth academy will remain connected to the club until mid-2027. “We are very happy with that,” says football affairs director Max Huiberts. “We are very satisfied with how he is leading the academy. So for us it is an ABC.”

AZ will resume the competition next Saturday with a home game against Vitesse. Jansen’s team currently occupies fourth place in the premier league.
