Welcome to our live blog! After last week’s disaster, AZ has to turn things around at home against FC Noah. The Alkmaarders will compete against the club from Armenia in the knockout phase of the Conference League. You don’t have to miss any of the developments. Tips? Email to [email protected]

Past: AZ – FC Noah 4-0 (4-1)

AZ recorded an easy victory over FC Noah thanks to goals from Sven Mijnans (two), Ro-Zangelo Daal and Isak Jensen.

At the start of the three minutes of injury time, AZ scored another goal. Troy Parrott’s first attempt is saved, but Isak Jensen simply taps in.

We are creeping towards the end of the match and things have collapsed a bit after Sven Mijnans’ 3-0. Partly due to the many changes, the options are scarce.

The Mexican remains on the field for a few minutes and has to be replaced by Mees de Wit.

Ibrahim Sadiq and Ro-Zangelo Daal are now also leaving. Ayoub Oufkir and Isak Jensen make their entrance in the final phase.

Sven Mijnans and Kees Smit are leaving – as expected. Mexx Meerdink and Kasper Boogaard are their replacements. Mijnans and Smit receive a standing ovation from the audience.

Ro-Zangelo Daal gets an imposed chance to make it 4-0. He hits the ball wide of the goal and the score remains the same.

There is AZ’s 3-0! Sven Mijnans pokes the ball into the goal from a cross from Ro-Zangelo Daal.

Troy Parrott taps in from close range from a rebound on a Kees Smit shot. However, the Irishman does so from an offside position. The party is cancelled.

On the other hand, the Armenians are given an opportunity through Gustavo Sangaré. He is also offside.

The second half starts in Alkmaar. Will we see more goals?

Peace almost breaks in Alkmaar. AZ leads 2-0 and is not yet in trouble.

There’s the 2-0! Sven Mijnans reacts alertly to a variant of a free kick from Peer Koopmeiners and hits the ball very hard.

There is finally another great opportunity. Mateo Chávez gives a hard shot, but Troy Parrott cannot score from close range. A defender barely blocks the shot.

AZ created quite a few chances in the first 25 minutes. It seems like waiting for the 2-0….

The ball comes out of the air to Sven Mijnans. The captain cannot hit the ball and his shot simply rolls over the back line.

Ibrahim Sadiq’s cross almost flies into the goal. Goalkeeper Aleksey Ploshchadnyi just scores the goal. AZ starts this match strongly and wants to do business early.

What a dream start for AZ! Kees Smit’s first shot is blocked, but the rebound goes straight into the corner via Ro-Zangelo Daal. It’s 1-0.

AZ and FC Noah will compete against each other in the interim round of the Conference League. After the competition phase, numbers 9 to 24 play an intermediate round. If you win, the eighth final awaits.

The Alkmaarders finished in 14th place in the competition phase with 10 points from 6 games. FC Noah achieved 2 points less and finished in 19th place.

AZ won against Slovan Bratislava (1-0), Shelbourne FC (2-0) and FC Drita (0-3), it drew against Jagiellonia Bialystok (0-0) and lost to AEK Larnaca (4-0) and Crystal Palace (3-1). It was 1-0 for the Armenians last week. If they win, a confrontation with Sparta Prague or AEK Athens awaits.

AZ has negative memories of Nikola Dabanović. The Montenegrin previously refereed the Alkmaarders in the Conference League match at Bodø/Glimt. The club lost 2-1 at the time after a late penalty for the Norwegians.

AZ will not be supported by a sold-out stadium tonight. It is expected that there will only be 11,000 people there to cheer on the people of Alkmaar. On the other hand, 750 Armenians come to the stadium to support FC Noah.

There will be no fan zone at the Paardenmarkt. Supporters from Armenia are welcomed at the stadium’s exit section.
