The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, was this Friday elected president of the Madrid PP with 99.12% of the votes of the delegates (2,030 of the 2,052) in the 17th Extraordinary Congress of the party that is celebrated in Ifema. The regional presidents of the PP supported the one who was the only candidate to preside over the party in the region and this Saturday the president, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will do so.

Ayuso thanks Feijóo for his trust

Yesterday, Ayuso thanked the president of the Popular Party for his trust “without tutelage”, while conveying to him that the Madrid PP is his “house”.

“The trust he has placed in us is such that every time he has spoken about the congress he has only asked ‘what can I help you with’. Without tutelage, which could be allowed without asking permission,” he assured in his speech.

As he pointed out, Feijóo’s request was “to have criteria and know how to organize well to put winning teams in front”. “Because you don’t like to waste time or make others waste it either. It honors you,” he said.

The Madrid president recalled that the Madrid PP is the team for whose constituency Feijóo will present himself to be president of the Government. “We are therefore your electoral team. His house”, stressed.

End of ‘marriage’

The congress that elevated Isabel Díaz Ayuso as president yesterday evidenced the end of ‘casadismo’who will be removed from power after those related to Pablo Casado played a key role in the attempt to curb the organic aspirations of the Madrid leader.

In the national congress of the PP that elected Alberto Núñez Feijóo as leader, mentions of Casado were the exception and the Madrid conclave has followed the same script.

The one who was the president of the popular ones has not been invited -although he could have attended as a member- nor does he appear in the opening video of the meeting, despite collecting acts and moments in which he was at the head of the PP.
