Awards for good teaching at the Faculty of Applied Natural Sciences

“Good teaching is our foundation”. In order to fill this principle with life, in the last convention session of the summer semester in Department of Applied Sciences four professors were honored for their very good teaching for the first time. The evaluation was based on the evaluation results of the students for the lectures of the last two semesters (summer semester 21 and winter semester 21/22), which were evaluated by the representative for teaching, Prof. Tillmann Schmelter.

“With this recognition and award, we would like to acknowledge the efforts to ensure a good education for the students,” explains Prof. Stephan Klein, Dean of the department, when the certificates and small gifts were handed over together.

The professors Dr. Markus Riotte (physical technology) and Dr. Stefan Müller (biomedical engineering) with a bronze recognition and Dr. Peter Swidersky (Angewandte Chemie) with a silver recognition. professor dr Ullrich Wenkebach (biomedical engineering) was awarded the best with a gold recognition. For him, this is also a successful conclusion to his work at the TH Lübeck, in which he has been involved in self-administration as the head of the “Biomedical Engineering” course for over 20 years and has laid good foundations in teaching countless students.

One of these students is Tabea Volpert. She says about her professor: “He is our contact person and has advice on every topic. He is enthusiastic about medical technology and able to inspire students. Questions of all kinds are in good hands with him. He answers either as an engineer and medical professional or as a mentor with a wealth of experience. He has a great passion for his subject, the quality of teaching and the concerns of the students.”
