Ajax has strengthened itself on the final day of the summer transfer market with Florian Grillitsch. Austria’s international has signed a one-year contract with an option for another year. The 27-year-old midfielder was transfer-free.
Grillitsch’s last club was the German Hoffenheim. In five years, the controlling midfielder came to 151 official duels for the German sub-topper. At Hoffenheim, Grillitsch played in the 2019/20 season under the current Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder, who was at the helm there at the time. For the national team of Austria, Grillitsch’s counter stands at 33 international matches to date.
Florian Grillitsch is the ninth reinforcement for the reigning champion after Steven Bergwijn, Calvin Bassey, Brian Brobbey, Owen Wijndal, Ahmetcan Kaplan, Francisco Conceição, Jorge Sánchez and Lorenzo Lucca.
