Flavio Cobolli, destroyed by an intestinal virus, was eliminated in three sets by the British qualifier Arthur Fery 7-6 (1) 6-4 6-1 in two hours and 12 minutes, on his debut at the Australian Open. No problem however for the other Italian on the field, the number seven seed Jasmine Paolini, who dominated the Belarusian qualifier Sasnovich without any problem, beaten 6-1 6-2 in one hour and seven minutes.
