Germany’s best tennis player has to survive against the world number one in order to make it to the final of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year again. Does the (almost) impossible work? Follow the final phase of the match in the live ticker.

6:4, 7:6 (7:5), 6:7 (3:7), 3:4 – Zverev plays his serve confidently. Alcaraz is still playing somewhat inhibited after his cramps, which forced the match to be interrupted.

6:4, 7:6 (7:5), 6:7 (3:7), 3:3 – Zverev has break ball at 40:30 but cannot close the point. Alcaraz counters with a volley at the net, follows up with a forehand, then he puts pressure on him, goes to the net and forces a Zverev backhand out of bounds. He then clenches his fist.
